Walt Disney Zorro theme song “Out of the night when the full moon is bright …” is perhaps the most recognized song in the fandom. Also originally known as “Theme for Zorro” or “The Sign of Zorro”.
Director and screenwriter Norman Foster is responsible for the words that perfectly summarize the way Fox operates. The music was composed by George Bruns, the famous composer, who was nominated for an Oscar four times. From 1953 he collaborated with Disney and his work is also music for “The Sleeping Beauty”, “The Jungle Book” and “101 Dalmatians”.
In the first version, the song was sung by Henry Calvin, but eventually, the opening theme featured Bill Lee, Max Smith, Thurl Ravenscroft and Bob Stevens. The track also has a few covers and language versions that slightly differ from the original.
